Half day tour to the center of Balinese
Arts. Ubud and the surrounding is well known as
the center of Balinese traditional and modern
arts and creative handicrafts. Today the village
of Ubud has become a medium town in Bali with
modern shopping centers and spreaded out some
hotels from very simple up to deluxe class hotels
yet Balinese artists are still working immersed
in their art creation from painting, carving,
dancing, musics, gold and silver accessories and
creative handicrafts.Firstr stop will be at Balinese
compound, a traditional Balinese settlement pattern.
For Balinese, constructing a house is full of
religious meaning. So much influenced by Indian
classical architectural book of Silva Çastra.
You will see artists at work on silver and gold,
and fine woodcarving. Ubud style painting is so
famous in the world, we will visit two famous
artists one is Spanish born artist late Mr. Don
Antonio Blanco, and original Balinese artist I
Made Ada. The beauty of art creation such as Ubud
painting style has been well known world wide
which has been invited various artists and writers
from all over the wold. Some of them even dedicated
themselves the the further development of the
art and stay life time in Bali or become Balinese
in total sense. The famous name of Bali traditional
art has been encouraging the birth of various
modern art coming into Bali as the influence of
foreign elements. The fame of Ubud has made the
village developed into a town with modern business
shopping array and various product exhibition
by the businessmen. The only left behind is the
infra structure of the town might not be able
to cope with the development of the people economy.
In the future Ubud if not get special attention
can be as crowded as Kuta and will not give convenient
stay for travelers who really need special environment
based on culture.

WOB - 09 Uluwatu Sunset and Unique Kecak Dance
Uluwatu is a temple located on a narrow and steep drop cape. The steep drop is
continually under strong abrasion of Indian ocean. The foundation of
this temple is associated with the myth of famous Hindu Priest who had
strong magic power. According to the myth, after the priest doing the reformation
of the Hindu in Bali he than take a short meditation here and his body
become disappeared absorbed by the nature. He is believed to have practiced
what is considered the highest state in Hindu that is " moksa "
Toward the sunset, a Kecak Dance, performed by sometimes more than 50
men topless, with chequered cloth, encircling flickering lights, and
sing in a chorus of " tjak tjak tjak tjak ………. The dance is not using
musical background, but use chorus of human voice as the change. Basic
story of the dance is taken from Great Ramayana Epic of India, that is the
love story of king Rama and Princess Shinta. Dinner sea food at local restaurant
on the beach of Jimbaran Bay, a famous bay facing Indian Ocean, with dozen
of cafés offering fresh sea food. In the evening, the beach is really
changes into nice. Uluwatu is one of the sea temple on the south beach of Bali. South Beach of Bali
has many temples such as Tanah Lot Batu Bolong, Rambut Siwi, Soka Temple, and others.

WOB - 10 Besakih Mother Temple Tour
Full day tour visiting one of the oldest
Balinese village, and the biggest
temple in Bali that is Besakih temple,
located on the slope of the highest
mountain in Bali, that is mount Agung
has 3142 meters above sea level.
First visit will be the Kerta
Gosha, the ancient house
of justice. This was constructed in
18th century by the highest king of
Bali. Traditional punishment of the
lawless action is depicted on the
ceiling of the pavilion.
Besakih temple located
on the foot of the highest mountain
in Bali that is Mount Agung. The temple
consists of 18 complexes as the reflection
of the mixed believes between Indian
Hindu and Balinese ancestors worship.
You have to walk from parking area
to the temple, and for the active
person it can take one and quarter
hour. Tenganan
village, which residents
is originated from first or second
migration that entered Bali. They
maintain a uniquetradition such as
" gringsing " double ikat
(double weaving) cloth, palm leave
writing and some family utensils.
Goa Lawah is a temple on the mouth
of a cave. The cave is believed to
go though up to Besakih temple, but
none so far dare enough to prove this.
On the moth of the temple are hanging
hundreds of fruits bats. Besakih
temple has a closed relation with
the flourishing kingdom of Bali between
1343 until the end of Klungkung kindom
just before the turn of 19th century.
Klungkung kingdom which is continuation
of the first Majapahit settled kingdom
of Gelgel was always considered the
highest kingdom in Bali by all of
smaller kingdoms such as Buleleng,
Karangasem, Badung, Tabanan, Mengwi,
Bangli, Gianyar, and Negara. That
is why Besakih temple is also considered
the place of worship for all people
